Sugatani onsen is a hot spring located in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture (formerly, Omi Province).

Access

Railway: From Kawake Station, JR Hokuriku Main Line, approximately 10 minutes by taxi.
(Courtesy bus service is available, reservation required.)

Car: From Nagahama Interchange of Hokuriku Expressway, turn to the left to Shiga Prefectural Road 37 Nakayama-Higashikozaka Line, drive straight, turn to the left at Higashikozaka Intersection of the National Road and drive on National Road 365 to the north. It is located along the local road branched after Tagawa Intersection.

History

It is said that, in the Sengoku period (period of warring states) (Japan), Nagamasa AZAI, who was the castellan of Odani-jo Castle, Oichi no kata and Yodo-dono (also known as Yodogimi) visited for toji (hot spring cure) and that it has a long history as a hot spring in Kohoku region.

Present facilities were opened in 1971.
